Question 6:
What have you learnt about new technologies from the process of constructing
this product?
Photography – While doing my coursework I learnt much more
about camera work and taking photos as I had never taken photos from a camera
before and I build up my photography skills the more I took them. I learnt what
lightings would be best and what angles people work best at. When taking the
photos I also had to keep in mind how to make it look professional. I also
learnt how to actually function the camera and gained knowledge of how it works
and what to press for which setting. For example I learnt how to use the timer
which allows you to let the person who is normally behind the camera being in
the photo so I could also be a part of it.
Photoshop – I have not had
much experience in photo however I have briefly used it when I was younger
however this time using Photoshop was much more advanced and it taught me very
useful things that helped me in my coursework. It got much better at editing
the photos and using/ experimenting the different tools. This made the outcome
of my photographs much better and I could apply them to my magazine
appropriately so it looked much more professional. I mostly learnt how to use
the lasso tool much more accurately and to remove the background of my photos
so they would fit and look better in my magazine. Alternatively I also
experimented with the contrast settings and colour settings and ended up making
my front cover monochrome and I found it gave it a much better outcome than
when not effected
I took away red eye with the red eye remover and removed
background as it did not look appropriate for article page.
